Banners of Gold The year is 1137
Upon the death of Duke William X of Aquitaine, his daughter, Eleanor, was quickly married to King Louis VII of France. Two great families, both descendants of Charlemagne, were united on 25th of July, 1137. Two days later King Louis VI of France perished, leaving the young couple King and Queen of France.
Now the newly weds have to adjust to their new position as well as adjust to marriage. But will the pious Louis who had wanted to become a priest, come to love his wife? Or will Eleanor find herself finding the comfort and love that she lacks in her marriage in the man she her father and she had wanted to marry? Will Eleanor be overpowered by France's greedy hands, losing Aquitaine? Or will she find an inner strength she did not know?
What will happen to the nobles and people of Aquitaine who are accustomed to their rural, though not barbaric ways? Will they adjust to the uniting of France and Aquitaine, or will there be unrest among the barons?
The fate of France and Aquitaine are up to you. Which side will you be on?
